On the list #1 and some off the list shopping

With lots of help from S at Mommystyle I've been able to get my hands on something I've been looking for for a long time - a black blazer. It's was #1 on my 2011 wishlist. I blame this picture from Lagarconne for my obsession with it :
Perfection! I have the pants and the tee, and the blazer (Helmut Lang) is just what I've been looking for. Obviously the outfit doesn't look like that on me! However, the blazer looks good with skinny jeans as well as slouchy pants, and can easily be dressed down. I can't let go of the Hope boots in the photo either. My black Hope boots work with skinny pants, but not with slouchy pants. I've become more of a pants person lately, so these would be perfect. If I decide to get them I'd have to sell my Hope Charlie lace up boots, even though I love them.  The dilemmas! Here it is with IM boots, J Brand jeans and an Etoile linen tee.

I also got the Opening Ceremony sandals I've liked for a long time, at a 70% discount. They're black leather instead of the beige suede ones I think are prettier, but they're still really nice.

Finally, some stores already got a few fall items. I'm not quite ready for fall yet, but I'm such a sucker for fall clothes, it's my favourite time of the year when it comes to dressing. I haven't been tempted by a whole lot, but I couldn't resist this Isabel Marant Etoile linen tee in indigo - such a beautiful colour. Etoile linen tees drape beautifully and so far I find the quality really good.

I'm quite happy with my wardrobe now, so I'll try to be restrictive when it comes to fall purchases. Knits and boots are my weaknesses, and I'm guessing I'll see lots of that soon. It'll be a challange!

  1. yay, the blazer looks so good on you! It integrates rather seamlessly into your wardrobe. Very good dressed down. So do you think you like the Chy boots more than the Charlie? That's a really tough call because they are both so nice. The nice thing about the Chy is that you can wear it in mild temperatures and not feel so hot, since the shaft is low. But maybe having more coverage is good for you in Sweden? Which ones do you think you'd wear more often?

  2. Wow! Great purchases. If you're selling your hope boots (which i hope you won't!!), I would be very interested (i think we're the same size?). Can't wait to see the sandals on.

    Hope you are doing well!!

  4. Ah, a black blazer is on my list as well, and I'd been eyeing that same Helmut Lang blazer on Net-A-Porter -- I love its angles. It looks great on you!

  5. Ooh, I love/loved to sandals. They seem so subtly interesting, I'd like to see how it would look with pants.

P/S: I too got the Hope Chy boots and I blame S (Mommy Style) for this because it looked really good on her.

  6. I love it all! The jacket looks great on you and the sandals look really elegant yet casual at the same time. Nice additions. I also bought a few pairs of trousers from the hope sale. My first hope pieces and I'm lovin the fit. I just did a new post wearing them. Stop by and tell me what you think. Are yours the news trousers?

  8. S - Thanks for finding it:)! You know, I really like the Charlie boots as well. However, they're taupe, and black is so much easier. The thing is that I really like the colour, and that they're washed leather and suede in a pretty special combination that I've never seen before. Hope haven't made them in that colour again. The shaft is probably better for the climate here, but then the Chy boots would be fine with jeans when it's too cold for cropped pants and low boots. I don't know!! I just sold another pair of boots to a friend, so maybe there's a possibilty I could have both. I just don't want to feel like I'm not using one pair.

Fleurette - Thanks, I'm really happy about them too. I'll let you know if I decide to sell the boots, they're a size 37. Right now I don't feel like I can let them go..and thanks, I'm doing better now.

Vanessa - Can I ask what you didn't like about the quality? Sometimes I feel like a Hope salesperson here, haha, but I'm really impressed with their quality, especially when it comes to boots. I wear mine all the time and they've lasted many years now, and still look good. I love the blazer too:)!

Rachel - Thanks! I'm really happy with it! I saw it on NAP too, but it was much more expensive on the NAP European site than at Lagarconne.

Amanda -Thanks,I think that they work really well with pants. I've liked them for such a long time, but they were so expensive, $430 or something like that. I can pay that much for a pair of boots, but not for sandals. I've tried the Chy boots at the Hope store, they are perfect:)!

Agnes comme fellini - Thanks! Yes, I have the news trousers in black and grey. I wear them all the time. I just had a quick look at your post, it all looks great, will comment later!

Alexandra - Thanks! It's so hard to find a good black blazer, I'm really glad I found it, and that it fits!

  18. annfashionable - Thanks:)! It's great, isn't it? Well, I wear it outside now, but later on I'll wear it inside with cotton or linen tees, or a lightweight wool top and maybe a scarf? I wear scarfs a lot when it's cold. Do you have any other ideas?
