November

November by garderob

I have no idea why I'm all of a sudden in the mood for romantic blouses worn with knitted cardigans. Maybe it's because I was watching Never let me go the other night, but all of a sudden I feel like I should be taking a walk in the English countryside wearing something like this. I wouldn't mind wearing it here either.

  1. I love the idea of romantic blouses with cardigans too! Unfortunately, I've never had much patience for cardigans (I've never found one I really liked), but that blouse in the collage is beautiful!

  2. Love the Bruno shirt (which I own, but sadly do not suit), and can see it working so perfectly with the rest of this collection. The combination of pale and dark really appeals to me at the moment, too. I've been on the lookout for the perfect cardigan (probably beige/creamy tones like the one above) but not had a great deal of luck yet...the one's that I love are always a little too pricey for my current budget.
Now, if you fancy a trip through our torrentially rainy English countryside, make sure to add your wellingtons and a good old fashioned waterproof winter coat, too!

  3. 1957 - I know, it's a pretty blouse! I've always used cardigans a lot, that was I can use my tees when it's cold too. It's hard to find good ones, though.

LapindeLune - Why don't you think that it suits you? I noticed that you're wearing it in a post, it looks so good on you! As for the wellingtons, that goes for the Swedish countryside as well, haha! This is actually a really bad outfit for a walk in the countryside!

  4. I can't quite figure out why I feel that it doesn't suit me. It is a beautiful shirt, lovely quality and design, but somewhat too voluminous for my own tastes (the 34 is very large), and due to this it crumples out of shape when worn beneath cardigans, etc....so perhaps more of a summer garment?

And I actually could do with purchasing some wellingtons this year! Last year's winter was so harsh it has left me apprehensive about the one to come. I love the idea of wearing them with lovely chunky socks beneath for extra coziness!

  5. Hm, so wearing it with a cardigan might not be such a good idea then. I 'll still condsider it if it makes the sales! And last year's winter - I can't even think about it! I got a pair of Margiela shearling boots last year that'll keep me warm for many years!

  6. Nothing to do with the fashion but I wondered how you liked Never Let Me Go? I actually (for once) was more moved by the film than the book, maybe because in the novel I found Cathy H such an implacable and rather soul-less narrator!x

  7. The Macy boots are adorable. They were not on my wishlist until today. Tried them on and fell in love!

  8. mmmmm i love that it's cardigan season. housing isn't insulated well here in SH so invariably it's colder indoors than it is out.

i am sorely missing my Margiela shearling boots now...sigh!

  9. Milly - I liked the film, but I wasn't as moved as a expected to be. I haven't read the book, so I can't really compare!

Peace in mind - I know, I got them last year. Very comfortable and go with everything!

miss sophie - Oh, I hate when it's cold indoors!! My Margiela boots are still in their box, I'll wait until it gets snowy. I'm looking forward to wearing them again, which is a good thing since I was so tired of them last year. Shanghai won't get cold enough for them, right?
