Spring obsession

Spring obsession
Spring obsession by pelargon74 featuring ankle boots

I'm desperate for spring!
Rachel Comey boots are just a bit too high for me. I've owned a pair, but had to sell them. I'm sure they'd look great with C/E's The Roller jeans, an Etoile plaid shirt, Isabel Marant linen blend jacket and Jerome Dreyfuss Twee bag.

  1. This plaid shirt looks great - perfect weekend wear and then smartened up by the black jacket.
I was just thinking how perfect the height of the IM boots heel is - just a little bit higher and they would stray into having to take a spare pair of shoes in my bag territory! Do they come in black? x

  2. I love those Rachel Comey boots, but I also find that they are just a little bit too high for me. I have a pair of RC Penpal boots that have the same heel height. I can wear them if I know I won't be doing a lot of walking, but I walk everywhere, so I rarely have an opportunity to wear them!

I agree with Olivia that the IM boots are the perfect heel height. I just wish they were a bit more durable like the Rachel Comey boots.

  3. Jennifer and Olivia - I agree with you both! IM boots are the perfect heel height. I can wear them for an entire day, walking a lot. Olivia, they come in black this season. I've had them in black, but sold them becaue I wanted the taupe ones. I have the Hope boots, with a similair heel height, in black, so I decided that one black pair of ankle boots would be enough! Kind of miss them, though..). My L.D Tuttle boots are also the same height, and very comfortable. I had the RC Mars boots (pictured), and also felt that they were just a little to high. I'd wear them if I'd go out for a drink or so, but I want to be able to wear my shoes all the time, so they had to go.
I have the jacket version of the plaid shirt. It can be worn inside as a shirt, or jacket. I really like the colours.

  4. Cool outfit. I like how the black jacket adds chicness to this look.

  5. Aïssa - I agree. I love that jacket, but it's so expensive, 540 euros I think...I've looking for the perfect blazer like jacket for years, but never find one that's not too formal looking. Linen is good in that way, a bit softer somehow.

  6. I love this, and agree that it's very difficult to find a black blazer that doesn't look too formal. There's that one famous picture taken by Garance Dore, where the woman is very a black blazer and grey sweat pants (I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about!) Anyway, that was a truly perfect black blazer!

  7. I know! You're so right, that is the perfect blazer! I think that the photo is taken outside an IM store, so it's probably an IM blazer. I love everything about it.

  8. this is pretty much how i want to dress every day. and like everyone else i agree that the genius in the IM boots is in the heel height and perfectly slim toe/boot opening. the ankle opening in the rachel comey versions are just too wide for a flattering enough fit. love your picks! :)

  9. Miss Sophie - Me too! I'd like to find the Roller jeans in black, but they're sold out at Revolve Clothing. I have J Brand Krys in a blue wash, very similair to these. The black ones are available at Net-a-Porter, but overpriced like most US brands there:(

  10. I would swap the plaid shirt for a blue one but for the rest I totally agree with the choices.

  11. Angie - Thanks for stopping by! I love plaid, just can't get enough of it, especially blue/red combinations. A blue shirt would be good as well.
