Sunglasses

It's April and sunny, which means that all Swedes put on their sunglasses. For some reason wearing sunglasses during winter is socially unacceptable behaviour here, plus the fact that there's not a lot of sunshine! I use mine as much as I can now, and take every opportunity to wear them. I've always loved sunglasses, I think I like being just a little anonymous. These are Karen Walker.

I've also been wearing a Hope shirt, J Brand jeans and IM boots....

....and my Isabel Marant coat, we still have chilly mornings.

  1. I like the sunglasses! It's hard to find good sunglasses that perfectly suit your face, don't you think? Of course, the coat is divine! You look great!

  2. I loooove those Karen Walker sunglasses and was so sad when they didn't look right on my face! I just bought a pair of tortoise shell Illesteva Leonard II frames. They're similar to your Karen Walkers, but a bit larger to fit my huge head. :)

I didn't realize that in Sweden it's a bit socially unacceptable to wear sunglasses during winter. I wear mine year round. Our winters are fairly sunny though and there's nothing worse than being blinded by the snow!

  4. It was suddenly so warm in England yesterday, I too dusted off my sunglasses! I love tortoise shell shades, somehow more laid back and less 'fashion-ey' than black? Starting to think of Summer dressing now too (it was the hottest april 6th yesterday for us since 1894 or something! Looking forward to seeing how you tackle summer dressing too - I'm not great at it! x

  5. S - Thanks! Yes, it's pretty hard. These are from 2008, but my older ones are huge, like they all were a few years ago.
Jennifer - I love the Illesteva Leonard II frames! I might have exaggerated a bit when it comes to not being able to wear sunglasses during winter, but I never feel comfortable doing it, and there must be some reason besides the lack of sunshine!
Peace in mind - Thanks! Cutler & Gross make some great sunglasses, would love to see them.
Olivia - I agree, tortoise shell shades are more laid back, and a bit "softer" than´black ones. Summer dressing, that's so much more difficult! I never know what to wear when it's warm...

  7. also - funny that it's unacceptable for Swedes to wear sunnies in winter! if i had my way i'd wear sunglasses all the time (and not have to deal with pesky things like contacts)!

  8. Miss sophie - I'd LOVE to stroll down Soho with my sunglasses too... it's been way too long! I'd love to wear mine all the time too, but somehow I always feel like I'm being stared at if I wear them during winter:)!

  10. I Love the glasses. I really want the black Super Duper Strength ones- they're not on the Karen Walker website anymore, may have to Ebay :) I guess I'm lucky, in Aus you can pretty much wear sunglasses all year round.

  11. Our youth - Thanks! I'm so glad spring is here! Thanks for stopping by!
Asha - the Super duper strength are fantastic. I've had mine for almost three years now, and I'm so happy with them. Good luck with ebay! I know I searched ebay for these before I found them here, and there were quite a few of her sunglasses on eBay Australia.
